JARUMAS FRESH FIELDS BUSINESS
Integrated Farming
System
One Field, Zero Waste
How we turn a 1.5-acre field into a self-sustaining paradise of premium durian and nutrient-rich
stingless bee honey — where every element feeds the next.
The Circular Ecosystem
Every element in our farm feeds the next — creating a self-sustaining loop that eliminates waste and maximises natural productivity.

LIVESTOCK
Damara Sheep
Our Damara sheep graze freely across the field, naturally keeping the grass trimmed low. This isn’t just about tidiness — short grass reduces damage to our bee log hives by keeping pests at bay.
In return, the sheep provide a steady supply of organic fertilizer — nutrient-rich manure that feeds our durian trees, completing the first link in our integrated farming chain.

SUSTAINABILITY
From Manure to Nourished Soil
The manure from our Damara sheep is a nutrient powerhouse. We collect this organic fertilizer and return it directly to the earth beneath our durian trees.
This fuels the soil with exactly the nutrients our durian trees crave — saving on chemical fertilizer costs while ensuring a healthier, more productive grove.

HORTICULTURE
Durian Blossoms
Fed by the soil we’ve carefully enriched with organic manure, our durian trees burst into life each season with healthy, delicate ivory clusters of blossoms.
These blossoms are the heartbeat of the farm — hanging rich with the nutrients that will eventually become the King of Fruit. Every blossom is a promise of the creamy, aromatic durian to come.
BIODIVERSITY
The Herbs, Flowers & Blossoms
We’ve planted a rich variety of herbal flowers throughout the field to provide a diverse diet for our pollinators — ensuring healthy, productive bees and honey with unique medicinal properties.

APICULTURE
The Pollinators
Heterotrigona itama bees
Our stingless bees — Heterotrigona itama — act as master pollinators. They move delicately from flower to flower, gently extracting nectar as they go.
This natural pollination dramatically increases the success rate of transforming fragile durian blossoms into full, delicious durian fruits — the crowned King of Fruit.
After a day spent foraging among the durian blossoms and herbal flowers, our stingless bees return to their sanctuary within the log hives — traditional hollow logs that mimic their natural habitat.
The diverse herbs and flowers extracted by our bees infuse the honey with unique medicinal properties and create a one-of-a-kind flavor profile unlike any conventional honey.

APICULTURE
The Honey
ALbab — Stingless Bee Honey
Using a precision suction machine placed at the top of each log, we draw the honey directly from the sac on top of the log nest — preserving its raw, untouched character and carefully without any damage done to nest.

Why it Works
The “integrated” nature of this system means that the waste from one component becomes the lifeblood of another. Sheep manure feeds the durian trees. Durian blossoms and herbal flowers feed the bees. The bees pollinate the durians and produce extraordinary honey.
This reduces the need for chemical inputs and creates a self-sustaining loop of agricultural productivity — where every element on the 1.5-acre field has a purpose.
A beautiful example of how traditional farming wisdom can power a modern, efficient business.
